A Warm Welcome!

So, why would I be up at 12:19 am waiting for Everett to deep-fry a turkey? I guess that's what happens 3 days before you leave the country to begin the exciting process of bringing three beautiful children home from Eastern Europe!

I am back to join the blogging world anew as we share this wonderful journey with you. Our adoption story began 9 years ago, and has been quite a roller-coaster this past year, but the adventure is just beginning. Right now we are focusing on raising the money we need to complete our adoption, whittling down the to-do list, getting 5 little girls ready for us to leave, and dreaming of the three children that will soon, Lord willing, be in our arms. I can't wait to share them with you!

Please consider helping us financially, if you can- little bits add up! We will be leaving on December 3rd for the first of three trips. Wow- I need to get to work! (I just have to say thank you to all y'all who have been praying for our children and us, and all those who have given to help bring them home. We are SO grateful!!)

For now, until this blog gets all fancy, you can donate here (thank you!):

  1. Yeah! Is it crazy that I checked on updates from you on FB about 25 times yesterday? And I went to the donate page to check on the status of that as many times! I am thrilled to see those numbers keep jumping up there. God is providing for your children and will continue to do so!

  2. Congrats!! We are traveling to China for our boy hopefully in early March and I was trying to already figure out how to to get my husband to say we could go get Lucy when we get back ;) I am soooo happy for your family and over the hills happy for Lucy!!!! Can't wait to follow along and see her home!

  3. Are you ok with this blog address being put on your FSP??

    And CONGRATS!! :)

  4. Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you how excited I am that you are adopting Lucy (and Levi and Shawn)! We have been praying, praying, praying for you precious girl. My classroom of nine girls decided in October that they would like to be Christmas Warriors for a little girl from Ukraine (in large part, because my oldest daughter is Ukrainian). They have been praying for Lucy and initiating fundraisers for her. They were over-the-top excited today when I announced to them that Lucy now has a family! I know that you're getting ready to leave, but I would LOVE to hear how God lead you to Lucy, if you have the time.

Is it all right for me to post a link to your blog on my blog?

    Blessings to you!

  5. Yippppeee! Congratulations! :) I am friends with Sarah (who posted up above)...and we have a Christmas ornament with Lucy's picture on it! So, I am so excited for her and for your family! My boys were ecstatic when I told them that Lucy has a family!!!! We've been praying for her. :)

  6. indeed you are blessed! The joy of seeing three little treasures snapped up in 2 days or so just cannot be measured. i have heard that your Lucy is a darling sweetheart and from the looks of them your boys are going to be charmers. safe travels and will be praying! God Bless and thanks for sharing your journey, esp for those of us wanna be mommies! what a treat :)

  7. I just wanted to wish you a safe flight tomorrow and say that I can't WAIT to read all about your journey!!
